Aspen tree shoots in lawn

My neighbor has half a dozen "quaking" Aspen trees. From what I have learned, these trees spring shoots from their roots up to 50 feet away. They grow very quickly. I also learned that if you cut/mow them, the cut off sprout will re-spring with multiple sprouts like a medusa.

In my backyard, I have about 100 of these little to medium size growing in my yard. I am getting ready to do a renovation in my backyard but my experiance is that even after roundup, these things will start popping back up faster than the grass can grow. Has anyone dealt with this before? If so, any advice?

How close relationship-wise are you with your neighbor? Then again, if you're willing to use Roundup, that may be a mute point.

We removed a Bradford Pear last year and had the stump ground, but still had suckers coming from remaining roots this spring.

I hit them once with 3-Way when treating some Virginia Buttonweed, but what really seemed to do them in was a blanket app of Quinway (Drive XLR8) and Triclopyr Ester 4. Reading the label, it was likely the Triclopyr Ester.

Just unsure what the impact would be on a mature Aspen parent if you are hosing down its suckerlings.
