Anyone had to use warranty for Stihl BR800ce?

I purchased a new Stihl BR800ce mag a little over a year ago. I use 93 non-E & synthetic Stihl oil 50:1. I use it once a month to dry my truck after I wash it & occasionally blow my shop out.
After 4-5 months a knocking developed so I shut it down & took it to a dealer. First they said it was old gas. I assured them that was not the case. It stayed with them for close to 2 months before they called to let me know they replaced a broken lifter.

I picked it up, came home, washed my truck, started the blower to dry it, & it knocked for a couple seconds then locked up.

For obvious reasons I took it to a different dealer but let them know it had been worked on by another dealer who i no longer trusted. Their first diagnosis was I ran it without oil. I told them that did not happen so they took a fuel sample. Everything was fine. They agreed to look at it. 30 minutes after I left I received a call from the dealer guaranteeing me my blower was ran without oil at some point. They said a bore scope was used with spark plug removed & there's a hole in the top of the piston. This is something that won't be covered under warranty & I needed to come pick it up.

On my way back I called Stihl customer service & explained my situation. The guy I spoke with was helpful & asked me if I was absolutely sure it had not been ran without oil. I told him yes so he asked if I would give him a few days to look into it.

About a week goes by & I get a call from the dealer asking for info on the first shop I had it at. They noticed a lifter was replaced but some pieces of a broken lifter were still in the engine which is what put a hole in my piston. I asked what that meant as far as warranty coverage. I was told I would have to contact stihl customer service & convince them to cover it before they went any further. I completed all of that & they agreed to put a new engine on it.
It's been close to 2 months so I stopped by to get an update & the new engine is on backorder.

To those who have had to use their warranty how was your experience?

What was the time frame?

Has anyone had issues with the br800ce mag engine?

Thank you for your very helpful response. I hadn't thought of asking them if they'll replace it with a new one. I'll go by there tomorrow and see what they have to say. I'll follow up with the outcome either way. Thanks again!
