Hello everyone,

Two months ago, on April 5th, I completely removed, leveled, and resodded my front and backyard lawn. Although I don't have an in-ground sprinkler system, I've set up an above-ground system using Hunter sprinkler heads on metal stakes and have ensured ensured proper coverage. I installed timers with six zones, initially watering twice a day for 20 minutes each. After three weeks, I adjusted this to once a day for 20 minutes and after 6 weeks, I've switched to 3 times a week for 30 minutes.

I mow my lawn to a height of no less than 2.5 inches and aim to mow once a week. After one month, the grass looked fantastic, so I changed my watering schedule to three times a week for 30 minutes each session, aiming for deeper watering. However, at the two-month mark, I'm noticing some brown grass mixed in with green in my lawn. It's not too severe, but I want to understand the cause before it gets worse.

To gauge my watering accurately, I bought some measuring cups and plan to measure how much water I'm applying in 30 minutes. My watering schedule runs from 6:00 am to about 8:30 am.

I know fertilizer was applied to the soil before the sod was installed. Should I be adding more fertilizer during the summer months? I'm uncertain if I'm watering too much or too little, but I hope to get a better idea once I measure it. In the meantime, I'll use a tuna can to check until my measuring cups arrive.

I'm seeking advice on keeping my lawn healthy, thick, and green. I recently dealt with a mole problem, which I believe is now resolved. Previously, moss was an issue, preventing the grass from thickening, largely due to the previous owner's neglect. Now that I have a clean slate, I want to ensure I'm doing everything correctly.

I would appreciate recommendations on products to use, the best times to apply them, and a suggested plan for ongoing lawn care and maintenance. I have attached a picture of my front and back lawn at the 30 day mark. My front lawn is about 1000sq ft and the backyard is about 170 sq ft. I will post pictures of my lawn at 2 months as soon as I can.

I asked the company that installed my lawn what kind of grass I have and i'm waiting to hear back, but I thought it was a mix of Rye, tall fescue and possibly something else. I haven't fertIlized since it was installed because I was told that i didn't need to since they fertilized the solid before laying the sod down. Thats part of what I'm asking for clarity on. Should I be fertilizing and what kind of fertilizer is best?

The backyard has more color, but it has very dark green patches that grow faster than everything else. I would love for all my grass to be the same color and thickness as the dark patches. Any indication of what is happening there?

Here are pictures of my lawn as of today. Its been just a little over 2 months. You can see some of the browning in the pictures in the front lawn.
