Let the lawn grow to 3”+ in the fall 2022. Could not keep up with the mowing due to neck and low back issues. Feeling better now and ready for season of lawn care.

Time to scalp and reset. Ground is very, very wet. A little early for scalping, but I was seeing green pop through everywhere so I decided to start bringing it down slowly. Rotary as low as it will go (around 3/4 inch). Hoping to dethatch and go over again tomorrow.

Cutting at .375”. Back is struggling to recover from scalp. Front is doing much better. Applying very small weekly doses of liquid fertilizer. Applied Bifen last week as critters were digging for (and I assume finding) bugs. Also applying monthly fungicide. Disease X (Azoxystrobin) was the first application.

Did you take pics of the grass at that high hoc?
Animal Flex may help you. It's a joint supplement that works great for me.
Pics above are at just over .375 hoc (2 days post mow). It is just taking longer to come in this year with the severe scalp (let it grow out last year) and low temps recently. These are picks from last year. It just need time and heat. Thanks for the advice on the supplement. I will try it.

Cut at .375 and very light top dress (80/20 mix). Sand came from Soil3. It was very nice. Absolutely no rocks. Wet but the eco spreader made the job easy. Only downside is the price.

Before and after mow with Swardman. Going to try and monitor growth over the next few days.
