Yellow Nutsedge St. Augustine Bare Spot

Hello...

After two doses of blindside, I've eradicated most weeds from my SA and SA runners are beginning to spread across the bare spots.

I do however have one ~3'x3' area where neighbors tell me the prior owners had a tree planted that didn't make it. Over my 9 years living here, I've had ups and downs with my lawn but even when it was on point with no weeds anywhere else, this spot only produced weeds. Covered with new, fresh SA plugs in the spring of 2017 and it did not survive. Possibly salted the stump after the tree was fallen is all I can figure.

Now I have yellow nutsedge (thanks @Redtwin) sprouting here and according to the label, the blindside treatments should have taken care of it. Even with a mixture of sand and black cow, the SA runners are not aggressively tackling this area like they are the other spots.

I'm guessing I should have the soil in this area tested? Thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks @GCoco I'm putting down TS Pro 18-3-6 every 7-10 days and based on your prior recommendation I don't plan on spraying blindside again. The grass has started turning more green from the yellow-green it's been over the past few weeks.

As dry as it's been (and apparently will continue to be), I'm watering 30 minutes 3x per week about ~2 hours before sunrise. Have not done the tuna can test to know if this is the right amount. Are you stating that I should wet the problem area down daily?

After the second post emergent ~30% of my yard was bare where the weeds were. The large 3'x'3 bare area has filled in about 50% however the runners are not really taking root - only spreading across the top of the area.

I'd say about 10% of the yard is left bare - some spots filled in completely, others partially and some not at all. I did the same thing in all areas (black kow and mason's sand), watered the spots often over several weeks, lightly raked to keep the mixture somewhat loose. I've put down 18-3-6 4 times over the past 7 weeks and will do so again after the next good rain. Any suggestions for the spots where nothing has happened?

Awaiting soil test from LSU and will solicit feedback here once received.
