That’s cool. The SF Giants use a Husqvarna to mow their bluegrass outfield. How low does it mow?
Really?! I thought it would be useful on baseball/football fields for high schools and such. Out of the box it goes from 1 inch to 4 inch. I have a 10mm spacer coming so hopefully that works. It’s for a different model so fingers crossed 🤞.

Truly inspirational, I had absolutely no idea that it was possible to shred sod and spread it like that. Your journal and @clbphllps journal has me re-thinking everything. I have had 3 failures so far with seed, I would love to try this method with TifGrand Bermuda. I am kicking myself for not finding out about this method in April. Sodding my yard the traditional way would be about $30K, with this method I could do it with just two pallets for $1K.

It’s such a cost-effective way to have a nice Bermuda lawn. I found out about it the same time of year you did. Did an overseed with prg for the fall/winter and killed everything off starting February, sprigged early April, and had pretty much a full lawn mid June.

That is just incredible, I assume this only works for Bermuda and maybe Zoysia, St Augustine has some shade options which I would like to use in my backyard but I am guessing it's not aggressive enough to use this method.

I just put down my Yukon seed but am seriously thinking about using this method right over the top of it with TifGrand Bermuda instead of waiting until next year. The ground is already prepared and weed free.

if I were in your shoes I’d kill off everything with a clean slate. It’ll look a lot better.

You will not regret sprigging!

You could sprig st aug as it creates a ton of runners also! Yet to see that or zoysia done. I’m most curious about zoysia sprigging project. It’s been fun to watch others and help.

Been working through the husqvarna 420 iq Automower. Lawn is doing great, front is at .75 and so is the large section of the back. Other sections are at 1.25 and 2 inches. I did modify the fence double gate with the mower doggie door 😊 just scalped the section under the side yard pine tree and that will get cut at 2 inches. The back yard has done well with getting multiple layers of sand this year.

Another one lost from reel mowing to the auto mower. :ROFLMAO: It does look great though. Any reason for the change?
Main reason is a school is being built across the street from me and they are slinging rocks and mud in the yard. I was tired of picking up rocks just to catch a rock with the Toro 1000. The added time I have is nice. I’m planning on maintaining the front at .5 next year with pgr and the auto mower. I’ll be able to set the reel mower to the same height and lay some strips down when I want to. The auto mower isn’t the quality of the reel mower of course. 15000 sq ft a few times a week does add up. Still working on the inside of the house also.
