I have around 10k sq ft of lawn (or a 1/4 acre) to mow, and it takes too long with a 21" self-propelled mower. I have a walkout basement lot, so while the front and backyards are flat, there are hills between the two levels (max grade is up to 15°). There is also a slope towards the back of the property I was looking at the Troy Bilt 30" Electric Neighborhood mower, but the reviews said they weren't good for mowing other than completely flat terrain. I would like to keep the deck size between 28 to 36"

Back in 2002 when I was still in the Navy, I had a house on the corner of a cul-de-sac that was .31 acres. I found a lawn tractor to be the most efficient use of my time in that situation. Depending on the severity of the slope of your hills that may be an option. Husqy makes a 38" one I saw in the store the other day. I would assume some of the other brands have a smaller deck garden tractor as well.
Worth looking into as a mid $ option.
Edit: Just a quick search on the Lowes website Ariens makes a few really small ZT Mowers 34" range. Not familiar enough with their stuff to comment one way or the other but there are options in the size range.
