I am continuing my lawn reno into the back yard this year and I wanted to poll the audience on the best places to buy the below types of seed. Still haven't decided what I will be going with this time. VA/NC border.

KBG - Midnight
KBG -Barvette HGT
Tall Fescue- Speedway

I would be looking to order for less than 4000sqft.

I've had good luck with Pawnee Buttes Seed Company in Greeley, CO for a few years now. I know they have Midnight that it certified sod quality, 0% weed and 0% other crop. It is listed currently at 3.40 per pound. I don't see the other two on their list. Shipping has always been reasonable as well.

Barvette HGT is only available a part of Barenbrug's Turf Blue HGT mix. You can get that at Todd Valley Farms

I wouldn't recommend mixing it with Midnight. It's a lighter color bluegrass but an aggressive one, so as it spreads to fill voids faster than Midnight it will cause color unevenness. I would do one or the other.

I may have a source for Speedway, waiting to hear back. It's being harvested right now. I've had to special order it from SRO as it's not available anywhere near here except as part of a mix with lesser cultivars. If you find another source in the meanwhile, please let me know.

Check with Crop Production Services for speedway mixture. They are all through NC and Virgina. The defiance blend is a dark green beautiful grass. Its usually grande 3 and SR8650 with it.
