I'm tryin to figure out what to do with large bare areas of my lawn.Do I put down seed or is there something else I can do?

In that second picture it looks like there was something sitting on the ground. Fertilizer, water and frequent mowing and the Bermuda will cover it. If you want to speed up the process you could transplant some plugs.

Yeah there was a vegetable garden that I ripped out as soon as I purchased the home at the end of last year.

That's good. Once the grass starts growing you can cut the stolons that will grow over your concrete, punch a hole with a screwdriver in the bare areas and stick a stolon in there then step on it. Keep it watered and it'll start growing in a couple weeks. Or you could plug it like I said before, whatever works for you to speed up the process

Is there a certain tool to cut plugs?
