I had my driveway replaced by the city this winter. They left quite a bit of concrete at one spot of the yard near the road. Here is what it looked like before I removed most of the concrete with a shovel.
FYI, on March 1st, I sprayed this Ortho Weed B Gone in the whole yard, which killed some weeds, but left others thriving...For another thread I guess. A week later I spread this Dimension herbicide, then watered the yard in addition to it raining that Saturday.
Here is my plan. Please tell me if it is the right approach or not, with the info given. And if not, please help my formulate a plan.
1) Buy some St. Aug sod. I believe I currently have St. Aug from this post here.
2) Till the area - I already shoveled out most of the concrete, but I could not get all of the pebbles.
3) Level off to leave bout 2" lower than ground level
4) Lay down about 1" topsoil
5) Lay down the sod.

Thanks!

If you till up the area, you're going to be breaking the chemical barrier that the PreM put down, and you might have some weed breakthrough in that area that you till. Depending on the size of the area, you might get better results if you try the ProPlugger which several members, including myself, have used to plug areas that weren't doing well with grass from other areas of the lawn where the desired turf is growing well. In a few weeks, the areas of turf that were plugged will be well established, and the bare areas that are replaced are usually grown over pretty quickly.

Depending on the size of the area that it affected, this might be more cost efficient and a lot less labor intensive. As long as you're not leaving chunks of concrete in the ground like @GrassDaddy had in his driveway, you should be good with some small pebbles.

OK. I there are 3 areas that need attention for this. Total area is 133 sq ft. The part of finding good turf is going to be hard. I have these dollar weed looking weeds in pretty much every area of the yard

Ooooo, Oooooo, A weed I might actually be able to identify! That might be mouse-ear chickweed. A relative had it everywhere and herbicides never contained it. Turns out it germinates in the Fall like Poa A, so used a Late Summer PreM and that took care of it. Please don't take my word. Check one of the weed ID sites like NCSU's weed ID tool to make sure.
