I start at 4 am and go until 9 am. Twice a week, Tuesday and Thursday. That's the schedule and maximum time allowed under our water restrictions. We have an endless supply of water from mountain runoff yet they put restrictions on every year from early May to Sept. Dumb.

@SNOWBOB11 Thanks!

To put down an inch of water over my 12K sf takes about 9 hours. Right now I am renovating the back so I only have the front which takes 3 hours. But once my back is done then I'll have a 9 hour watering time and if I start at 3:15am like I posted above, then it won't wrap up until noon which is too late as the winds always pick up around here mid morning. Might have to start earlier or break it into two days (which wouldn't be ideal as all the zones overlap to some degree).

Right there with ya Greenrebellion. I brilliantly planned a 20k + piece of KBG here along the Front Range of NoCo which for those of you who aren't familiar is certainly on the arid side of precipitation levels. Anyhow, due to the yard size and the daily 90 degree temps I have to fire up the irrigation as soon as the sun goes down in an attempt to soak it at the most efficient time of the day. Unfortunately, I have begun the juggle of adding zone watering times and changing programs to avoid dry dormancy in certain baked areas. I have anxiety when each non-potable bill shows up!! But, of course, I won't not have a deep blue/green stretch of turf looking out my window. :)
