So I've seen this in very small areas of my lawn, like a blade here or there. You can see how big of a spot it is in the picture, and in the other picture you can see how small it is and this is what I've seen in various areas of my lawn. You can see how green my lawn is and how plush it is, but then you have this spot. I just mowed Thursday and watered it in Friday, and this pic just happened this morning.

Also, a construction member in our subdivision is going to give me 1 yard of masonry sand for free since it's sitting in a driveway and will use it probably next week. I'm afraid since my lawn is looking so great and so damn thick.

Just got 2 bobcat loads dumped in my yard for free. I didn't want to ask for more since they were kind enough to do this for me, but how many yards do y'all think this is? I have about 2000 sq ft that I need leveling.

If you haven't spot sprayed any herbicides, then I would check the browning areas with a screwdriver to see if you have any subsurface debris.

I have spot sprayed, but don't recall if I did or didn't do that spot. And if I did, it wouldn't be that big... I think... Damnit

Thanks fellas, I was thinking that, but the guy thought 1 load was a yard. I didn't want to be ungrateful and ask for more, but the sand is across the street and I may just go grab some more... Should I risk and get more or just let it go?? Thoughts?

+1 on the subsurface debris comment. I have similar areas in my lawn and I went out and check them, and sure enough I hit rock or cinderblock or something like that. Now decision of whether I dig it up now or wait until dormancy.

Spots look like junk under grass. I have a spot with huge rocks that cook the grass in the heat.

Also looks like barely 1 yard of sand, but pretty close.
