Good morning Lawn Care Friends!

I'm having what I believe to be withdrawals comparable to that of an addict. Sweaty palms, headache, constant shaking. It's been raining for 8-days straight and is looking like it will rain for at least the next 7-days.

I haven't mowed, edged, trimmed, or done anything but stare out the window at my neglected lawn. When I leave for work in the morning I tell her I love her. I don't want her to think my neglect is due to my non-willingness to be with her. But I want to do something special for her this weekend. Question is... what can I do when rain is in the forecast for all of eternity??

I have some Iron coming in tomorrow. Is it ill advised to put my bathing suit on and spray during the rain? Can I put down my pre-emergent? I've done no pre-emergent application this year, I'm new to this and missed the ideal window. I've got a bag of 20-20 granular. Can I look like a crazy person and throw it down during the rain?

As always, thank you all for your help!

I can relate. If the rain is not too heavy then putting down granular should be okay. You run the risk of it being washed away if the rain is a heavy down pour. My backyard St Augustine needed a cut badly, but I did not want to shred wet grass with my rotary mower and my Swardman Reel mower is a ten blade. Which wouldn't work very good for the HOC for my SA. So I pulled out the Fiskar reel raised it to 3" and went at it. In the rain. It was a drizzly rain so it wasn't bad at all and the lawn thanked me.

I've seen people comment that they sprayed their pre-emergent in the rain since it has to be watered in quick. The gamble is that If the rain is going to be heavy you don't want it to wash it away instead of soak it into the soil. Same with fert.

The iron is a foliar uptake, so wait for the rain is gone. I'd spray it one evening so it can sit on the blades without the sun bearing down on it.

That actually looks pretty darn good! I don't have a manual reel, but I can get one!

Maybe that's what my lawn allowance will go towards this weekend!

Thank you for the advice. The rain isn't a downpour by any means, but is a consistent misery inducing rain.

I'll throw down the Prodiamine on Saturday. No hills in my yard and the grass is very thick so hopefully washout won't be a huge problem.
