Can someone tell me what these weeds are and how to kill them?

This one has been popping up all over the front yard. Is it a sapling of some sort?

This one is mainly in the back in a couple spots.

Sorry I'm no help. I am bad at identifying weeds. Have you hit these with Level 1 weed killer (2,4-d types)? If so, then try the Ortho CCO next.

Hey Eric, I did try spectracide on both. Didn't seem to do much. I will try the CCO weed b gon next.

CCO is a slower kill, so, give it about a week to do anything.

The top one looks like a maple sapling. They die as soon as they meet a mower blade.

That's what I figured it was. We get a lot of the helicopter seeds in the fall in that area. I did my best to blow / rake them out but sometimes they get stuck in the thatch. Good info, thanks for your help.

Looks very similar to me.
I hit mine with weed b gone (plus crabgrass control) seven days ago. The plant is still hanging around, but is wilted and colored red and yellow.

That looks very similar, it's tough to control once established the best way to control it is to prevent it

One being held in hand is a sapling, Other weed is tall fescueCarolina Geranium.
