Wabos42 - What sprayer to get

Not sure where to post this but will start here and move to wherever.

I am getting ready to nuke my backyard and start over. As it is @20k I am not looking forward to filling a hand held 1 gal pump sprayer some 65-70 times (per application) never mind the amount of pumps to dispense it.

I am interested in purchasing a battery powered backpack sprayer (looking at the Ryobi P2860 mainly because I have lots of batteries) but have seen various videos and comments about using a sprayer for 'regular' applications after having used grass killer in it and I would expect to use this sprayer going forward.

Looking for recommendations as to the best way to approach this task.

Thanks

Get the CHEAPEST sprayer you can find for roundup. Don't use that sprayer for anything else, I would not buy a battery sprayer and then put roundup in it. Bite the bullet and hand pump for everything else roybi is the way to go since you're apart of their system of tools already.

Thanks for the response. Pretty much what I have read, will look for a hand pump backpack as the 1 gal sprayer I use for pest control would be a chore.
Harbor Freight has one for $30 that should do the trick.

I disagree, if you are going to apply glyphosate to an area that large, get the backpack sprayer you want, and use it. You'll easily be 2 applications in, and you can buy a cleaner if you are particular about any residual in the sprayer and clean it out well after you are done with the gly.

A triple rinse, and some cleaner, and cycle a tank or two of water through it and you will be fine.

Going forward I would find a smaller cheaper glyphosate only system, but that's if you even need it at that point. Some dont, some like to use it for other things.

I agree. I watched a video from Ryan Knorr a few years ago where he accidentally killed part of his yard using a sprayer he used with glyphosate to put down fertilizer. He cleaned it out super well too and still killed off the yard. Just not worth the risk

I agree with this. A very thorough rinse + cleaner and I can't imagine having enough glyphosate still in the tank and/or lines to do any damage.
