Yep, I intend on cutting all of the reel pieces off leaving just the shaft and welding either circular saw blades or similar onto the shaft.

Yep, I intend on cutting all of the reel pieces off leaving just the shaft and welding either circular saw blades or similar onto the shaft.

Might be easier/cheaper to find a machinist willing to whittle you a shaft out of round stock. I don't know how complicated the reel axle is on these units but there are probably not a bunch of junk reels laying around like there would be for a greensmower.
