So family excursion tomorrow to see the in-laws. Made a bargain with the wife. I was able to bargain and get a trip to the nearest site one location. It's about 1.5hours away from my home, so its kind of a luxury trip for me. Spoke with a rep on the phone today. I told him about my plans converting st.aug into bermuda. I told him about my sedge problem. We discussed dismiss ~$80 and certainty $97. I know it can be had cheaper online, but I like to buy in person whenever possible. Im also using this as an opportunity to show the wife that Lesco 80lb spreader. Would make a great father's day gift imo :D .

I am leaning towards certainty. He also suggested certainty over dismiss. Would you guys agree. I currently have celsius, prodiamine, trimec, lesco surfactant, and tracker dye. Anything else you guys would consider? I'll be doing a soil test very soon, and I'll try to start a lawn journal this weekend. Just want to make this trip worth while. I have another $100 of disposable income for this trip, but I don't want to be wasteful as well. Should I get another chemical or stash it away towards the Lesco spreader.

I think the Certainty is a good option for the sedge. It can be a frustrating weed to manage, so I would stay on top of it.

Beyond that, I would save up for a nice spreader. Something like the Lesco will last you forever. How big is your lawn? Feel free to update your profile with that - I added that field after you joined. It helps others to know how much area you're working with when they make recommendations.

Might want to check out Katana. Not that popular but I have had great results this spring using it on Poa and rouge patches of Fescue in bermuda. I haven't had a chance to use it on Nutsedge yet but that time will come here a few months. Last season Dismiss worked well on Nutsedge, goosegrass, and wild violets. Much quicker kill when compared to sulfonylureas. This can be important when dealing with impatient clients.

I would also check on fertilizer prices while you are there as they are usually cheaper than buying from Home Depot or Lowes and they have a better selection usually.

Ammonium Sulfate is hard to get at big box stores. And it's usually cheap.
+1 Also wouldn't hurt to look for some Urea 46-0-0 as it too is not found at the big box stores
