I spend 4 days a week in a city that is not my home and the first thing I do on Friday morning is conduct my first cut of the weekend. I'm on the north side of Atlanta with a hybrid Bermuda and I've been keeping it around 1 to 1.25" with a Honda rotary.

I'm currently cutting the first 1/3 on Friday and then repeating for the new top 1/3 on Sunday, but growth between Sunday and Friday is irregular and my yard is so uneven that I have some parts going to seed while others are scalped and burnt.

What HOC should I be looking for? Other than begging my wife to cut it during the week, what options do I have? Will a PGR give me the results I need, especially if I'm still trying to cover in thin spots?

Welcome to TLF!I would definitely be using a PGR like T-Nex if I could only cut once a week - even if that meant not spraying the thin areas until it needed it. I would then just play the HOC by ear and see what you can get by with without a lot of scalping.

You're describing my lifestyle ....Monday and Thursday at hartsfield. I try to sneak one in on Thursday night and have been known to cut Monday am before the driver shows up....otherwise Sunday night.
Just one of the reasons I nuked my commodity bermuda ...Zoysia was more manageable.
Pgr is nice but you can't capiricously take your home Depot sprayer out on the lawn ...read up. I have plenty if you want to try it out.

How young is your yard?

GM 1600 and a PGR.
I have the GM1600 but PGR I will probably start next year once all the bare patches (hopefully) fill themselves in.

@jayhawk I'm assuming you're flying domestic - I can't get away with that schedule as I'm back ang forth to Toronto and the flights just don't work out.

I have been considering a Chapin push sprayer but I think everybody on TLF bought one and the price tripled.... My yard is about 18mos old, installed in December 2016 and not watered in. I waited for the builder to fix it last year and they did minimal work in November 2017 - so again, nothing took. I told the builder to pound sand - I'm doing it myself from here on out. I'd like to do what @FranksATXdid with urea, but I'm afraid I won't be able to keep up with the growth. Hence, the question about PGR.

I think I'm with @SCGrassMan - I'm going to focus on filling in bare spots this year and I'll just start cutting it longer. PGR can wait.
