Looking at plugging part of my side yard where the grass is thin. If you plug TifTuf 12" on center in a checker board pattern, how long do you think it would take to spread and fill in.

Depends on what variable is the constraint (light, water, nitrogen, etc.).

In my opinion, it spreads quick.

Are you trying to figure out how few plugs /max spacing you can get away with for this project?

I would think it would be complete in six to eight weeks with pushing fertilizer and water.

Just trying to get an idea of project completion. Looking at buying a pro-plugger and going to town. If it completely filled in within 2 months, I would be a happy camper.

I'm looking into sodding and plugging Tiftuf pretty soon as part of my renovation.
