My contract is just coming up for renewal. $235 for Sentricon, which seems a lot for what's involved. I'm wondering how others handle this. Do you install your own system using something like Hexpro or do you let the "professionals" handle it?

If you DIY, any installation tips?

I'm also interested in this! We had some termites show up shortly after we moved into this house and paid a large amount of money to have it treated. Knowing what I know now, I maybe able to save myself some big $$ in the future.

I went with the Advance bait stations when I discovered active termites in my garage. I had termites coming thru a crack in my garage floor and built a tunnel up the wall. I sprayed everything that lowe's and homedepot sold. I installed bait stations around my house and one directly outside the garage. Within 2 weeks, the termites took the bait. So, I installed the poison cartridge. They ended up eating several of the poison cartridges before they disappeared. It took about 1 year for all the activity to stop.

I liked that system because you can buy the parts individually. I occasionally run over them with my lawn tractor. I've broken 2 lids in the last 10 years. They are $3.99 each.

This is very similar to what I bought. They have changed the poison since I bought mine. It includes everything... the bait stations, the special tool to remove the lids, and the poison.

I would not recommend buying the poison unless you know that there are active termites in your yard.
They sell systems without the poison https://www.domyown.com/advance-termite-bait-stations-tbs-10-stations-p-146.html
and then you would have to buy the lid remover separately https://www.domyown.com/advance-termite-spider-station-access-tool-p-153.html
