Has anyone ever used "Team" pre-emergent or have any info on it? Just came across it recently. I would guess the majority only use Dimension and Prodiamine...myself included. But I think it's good to learn about other options, too. I'm always on the lookout for new options.

Team has 2 AIs...Benefin and Trifluralin, and is labeled for various warm and cool-season grass types.

Link to label: https://gvt.net/sites/default/files/files/lebanon-team-2g-preemergence.pdf

I am not sure which states in the US allow it to be used and which, if any, do not. But that would be one thing to check into if you're considering using it.

Trifluralin is the active ingredient in Preen. Mostly used for ornamental beds/ gardens. The combo of Benefin and Trifluralin is also sold under the Hi-Yeild crabgrass preventer brand as well. Neither of these products are considered "new".

The reason most of us use Prodiamine or Dithiopyr is because they are very cost effective and can choose the duration of coverage/ protection. They can also be sprayed as a liquid rather than spread like a granular fert. I find I get much better coverage and control when I spray herbicides when compared to granular products that are spread.

I did not realize Hi-Yield brand had an equivalent product. They no longer sell that brand around here. I did look it up just now, and will read over the label. I've never used Preen, but have heard of it. I would guess there aren't many people using Team for lawns due to the reasons you mentioned. I have not seen it for sale, but have not looked for it, either.
