I know this may sound stupid, but I can't really seem to find a thread on watering KBG (and sources online are all over the place).

Lots of the info online is too general, and isn't specific to ***...for example, *** has short roots, and needs more water than other turf (and some info online applies to deeper rooted grass)

These are my assumptions. Please let me know if this all sounds right:

- You water KBG grass 2-3 days per week (if there is no rain)
- You need to water the grass for longer period of time to prevent root shortening (although I'm not sure if this applies to KBG)
- Watering should be between 45-90 min (depending on how dense your soil is)
- Watering the grass should take place in the early morning (no later than 10am) so it doesn't dry out quickly
- However, if your grass really needs water, you can disregard this line above and water it immediately
- Do not water overnight as it creates an environment for fungus and grubs

Any other watering tips to ensure a complete list above?

A good rule of thumb for most mature grass is 1" per week. Use a tuna can or something similar to see how long it takes to fill up then use that as your weekly watering time. Adjust based on how your lawn looks and your soil type. for example my sandy soil will dry out much more quickly than clay, so water it more frequently to wet down 3-4" of soil.

^what he said. I do change to twice a week for 3/4in when the summer heat becomes brutal.

By the way, on a hot day the evaporation + what is used by the grass is around 0.18in of water per day. Ive reached 0.21in in the past two days. So that water has to be replinished.
