Was watching this video from wardconnor and while his spray bottle looks like the typical 1 gallon model, the wand and hose look awesome and upgraded.

I recently had the wand on my HDX spray bottle start leaking and seeing how I used it for just this purpose, the leak was not pleasant. So yeah, just curious what it is and how I can turn my cheap 10$ sprayer into a sweet sprayer I enjoy using.

here is the video for reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nZ_cmWFSG-U

Yeah those HDX 1 gallon sprayers suck bad. I had one and the nozzle tip was really bad on it and the wand is a cheap plastic POS. Its designed in a way that you can not put a different tip on it. This was the main reason I bought a new one. I still have it but I think its seen its last days after buying that new one.

So what is in that video is a little craftsman 1 gallon sprayer that I bought from my local Ace Hardware store in my small town. The sprayer cost around $30. It came with the metal wand. The trigger is still the normal plastic one on most cheap sprayers. I ripped that factory nozzle off so fast. I mainly bought that model sprayer because it had a metal wand and is built in a way that I could add other tips. I added the chapin red CF valve to the end of the wand that I have for my backpack setup for spraying PGR. I also added this green tee jet tip.

The main reason I added the CF valve was because without it after I let go of the trigger on the factory set up it continued to spray on its own being that it had the modified low flow tip installed and there was product still in the wand tube. The CF valve did help with it not continuing to spray after the trigger was let go but it still has the same issue. I am not sure why that is the case and I am thinking that DFW might have an answer for me. I really would like one of his wand set ups but am frankly too lazy in that regard to research all the parts and buy them all. I would be nice to just buy it pre assembled.

I do have to give credit to DFW and this thread for all that I have leaned about how to set this up even though mine is a cheap version of what is listed in that thread.

This thread also deserves credit for what I learned about tee jet tips. This thread is SO useful.

So one more bit of info. From what I see on my HDX sprayer, it does not look like you can easily change out the wand setup or nozzle setup on that sprayer without some serious mods. I am sure you could some how use the DFW setup to make it happen but that DFW wand setup is upwards of $100 ish if not more. How am i going to go on his retirement program and also have his sweet sprayer setup at the same time?

It looked like everything was glued together on that cheap wand setup.

I bought that sprayer in the video just for spraying the deer off. If you deal with deer like I do then you know that you need that stuff readily available "at all times".

yep, I sure do, they wander through the yard, sometimes 8 at a time...

as for the sweet wand. thats where interchangeability comes in. If I am going to spend 100$ on a wand, I want just 1 and I want to use it with all my bottles.
