KBG won't be seeding for a while yet.

Poa Annua is putting out seed heads right now. I've been pulling the last few days.
Poa-a has been putting out seed heads for me for at least 3 weeks.
I pulled some of this cause it had seed heads even though it didn't look the same as the poa-a, and then found rhizomes... from what I've read poa-a is not supposed to have rhizomes?

Here's one of the same looking grass I think where it grew in the mulch where I could have spilled seed last fall and had never been mowed in its life.

When the seed heads are very young and haven't opened up yet it can be really hard to distinguish. If you pull the head open with your fingers I find you can look at how branches come off the main seed head stem. If multiple branches come off from a common point it's KBG, whereas poa a has only one branch at a given point along the stem.

Usually though it's just easier just to check for a membranous ligule, or you just know it's poa a because of the lime green colour / bleaching if you sprayed tenacity.
