The packets contain a non-ionic surfactant - the 1.3oz bottle does not. Just mix one packet with one gallon of water and spray. Only mix up what you intend to use.

I've been working on a 1.3oz bottle of Sedgehammer for years. It's a slow kill, but has never let me down.

Yes it works. When I used these packets the first time on my new lawn, which had a pretty bad infestation, I probably got a 95% kill rate. It's gets harder and harder to eliminate them all as you approach 100%. I think I added a touch of surfactant just to be safe. I doubt it matters much if they say it's already in there.

I used it on an area of my lawn that had thick purple Nutsedge and it killed them all off,but it did take over two weeks to kill completely.I am about to grab a couple of more packs because sedge has started to pop up all over my yard.

5% of an active ingredient can be a WHOLE LOT depending on what it is. Bifenthrin at 0.2% will wipe out insects for 3-6 months at a time.

Sedgehammer will absolutely kill sedges. Many people mix it with other herbicides like 2,4D and Dismiss to get various weeds.
