I have a "Scott's Deluxe Edgeguard" push spreader that I use to broadcast fertilizer.
I can't, for the life of me, find application rates for it that corresponds to the settings on it. It seems Scott's wants to keep it all proprietary, and on their online tool you select the spreader you have and enter the barcode number for the Scott's product you want to spread. Isn't that nice??
Does anybody know even approximately what the broadcast rates are at different settings on this spreader? Or even just the min and max? This isn't a spreader that I bought, or I may have more information on it. I'll be spreading a 26 0 8 or something like that fertilizer with it on my centipede.
I want to spread it at 1 lb N/1000 ft². Last time I thought I'd be smart and did the math, and weighed out on a scale exactly the amount I needed in the spreader, and thought I'd just push it until it was all gone.
That backfired though because the setting I was using was way too high and I was maybe halfway done when I realized I'd already used way more than half my fertilizer. I think I had it on the 4 setting but I'm not 100% positive.
Over time I can figure it out by trial and error I'm sure, but if I could get a chart with the settings and their corresponding application rates that would be golden!
