I know this is premature but next spring when I scalp my Bermuda is that a good time to level? This will be the first scalping as I'm just transitioning to Bermuda this summer. I know I have an uneven yard. Mowing at 4" tends to hide that fact. Once it is scalped I'm sure it will be easy to see the low and uneven spots. Thanks.

I would wait until it has mostly greened up but other than that you should be good, just know it may take longer for it to fill in and be 100%.

On another note if your lawn is at 4", you will have A LOT of clippings come next Spring so you may want to plan your scalp early and do it in stages so that it doesn't overwhelm you.

I have actually started reducing my HOC recently. I went from 4.25" to 3.75". I kept it there for a few mows and today I lowered it to 3.25". I read on another thread to scalp it all down at once but I have nowhere to put the clippings right now. My plan is to get it down to 2.25" in a few weeks and keep it there through the summer. I have already contacted a mowing outfit about scalping it for me in the spring and hauling off the clippings. Thanks for the reply. I'm new to this bermuda stuff so I gladly welcome all advice I can get.
