I spot sprayed some roundup on my front yard today. I would say, out of 2500 sq ft, maybe 500 is good turf. The rest is weed city. Would spraying all the bad grass with roundup over the winter be a bad move for spring time? I don't have any pre-em, and I am sure I am past the window. Plus, im on the fence regarding a reno, so i don't really want to put any pre-em down. I have st. aug. I have celsius. However, I feel the temps, as previously mentioned in other threads, would make celsius apps not worth it. I even thought about over seeding with PRG, but it is not ideal for st. aug according to some articles that I have read.

I will say the death spots of brown weeds is very satisfying to look at. Again, Im just bored in the lawn. Looking to make improvements for next season.

Thanks

What is your plan come Spring time to fill in the other 2K? BTW, it's NEVER too late to put down a PreM barrier. You are better off putting one down and preventing any further weeds from sprouting and can concentrate on the ones you do have. Looks like you are pretty far South in LA, what are your daily temps?

Weather for next ten days.

highs- Mid 70s-upper 60s, with lows at night low 50's-upper 40s
The reason I didnt do pre-em is I was not sure if I would get to do a reno or not. To be honest, I am on the fence regarding it. I am inquiring to local sod farms for prices for sod. Closest sod farm is around 2hrs away. Also, i need lawn leveling and a good bit of prep prior to that (BERMUDA DREAMS). I have no irrigation, and I don't see that happening in 2018. I work 50-75 hrs a week. Will my wife be dedicated enough to help me water with sprinklers for sod or seed? She says yes, I have my doubts haha. So in short, my plans are in the air. I (want) to renovate with a bermuda. I just don't know if i can pull it off with my schedule/availability.

I sprayed some glyphosate with diquat as it was what i had. I sprayed angry on some spots of heavy weeds. Its not all broadleaf. A good section of my yard looks like a grassy weed that mimics the look of st.aug from a distance like crabgrass, maybe torpedo grass. If i could get my st.aug back into shape in 1 season. I'd consider trying that, but I feel that getting that extra 2k of lawn back to turf grass would prolly take many years right? Damned if I do, damned if I don't. Open to suggestions.
Thanks
