So is the rotary mower. Hit the blade on something? $20 and you're back in business so long as you didn't bend the engine crankshaft.ahartzell said:After seeing a few people break their reels and have to go through all of this to replace it.....swardman is looking better and better
True. I bought a Honda hrx rotary just for backyard (because it's not in great condition to reel mow...yet) and to use as overpriced vacuum when I scalp. I'm not going to lie...I've been tempted to go back to rotary only and keep lawn at around 1"  :shocked:Movingshrub said:So is the rotary mower. Nothing wrong with rotary cut bermuda, but it would be very difficult (if not impossible) to keep it looking nice at 1" all season with a rotary. You eventually have to raise the deck because it starts scalping, and next thing you know you're at 2+ inches...ahartzell said:True. But that's blasphemy so I won't do it

They do have hose taps and irrigation heads tho. Stones thrown onto the green from bunkers, ball markers and the odd widget (pens, keys, ball mark tools, pocket knives...) that mandate you as an operator remain alert.kur1j said:I guess we aren't running these things in their ideal situations either. Which is a big cause of it. Golf course greens don't have concrete near them. It's just grass. Nothing to hit at all so al of these problems are unique to our use case. It sucks becuase I'm going to have PTSD every time i mow haha.
