I don't think that's gonna work. I'm almost certain. They need air but they also need moisture retention. Perhaps a very durable knockout rose but I'd plant one and test befor making a real investment because I bet it doesn't come back well in year two even if it grows in year one
In my experience, rocks get hot in the summer and retain that heat which helps to dry out the soil. I have rock in the north/shaded side of the house to avoid moss. I dont plant much in this area (might do hostas in the future).
