And this is not the desirable kind of Poa (kbg, aka poa pratensis) that we like. Its got a massive ligule, and its Rhizomatic.... Thought I'd ask if anyone's seen this before i waste half my day tomorrow (or more) googling.

There are many types of Poa a. Some types survive from year to year, and they have various characteristics, just like different KBG cultivars do. The types with stolons tend to spread a bit. It's still Poa annua, though (if that's what you truly have in your photos).
