Any concern with import duties/fees? I’m in the market for one.

UPDATE: excitement got the best of me and already ordered. Time will tell regarding customs duties but think I should be in the clear.
I actually found another website with great deal from Japan. Power rotory scissors and the larger blade for edging. $225 total with DHL shipping. Ordered on June 1st, shipped in June 5th and arriving tomorrow per tracking. Passed customs

I feel like $30 is a lot for that that grease. I'm able to get 5gal bucket of extreme pressure industrial quality grease EP-00 for real good price. If anyone is interested, I'd be willing to ship anyone 32oz bottle for $15. Because I don't think I'd need that much lol

Well, interesting fact. I reached out to Manufacturer and got the following reply back about grease type.

EP-2 grease is the best for the Rotary Scissors. Of course EP-0 is also OK.

What is the website? Or did I miss it? Sorry for the duplicate post! Can't see how to delete it. :p

Anybody know if a Harbor Freight Atlas trimmer would be a good candidate for these? I already have a DeWalt trimmer since I’m heavily invested in that ecosystem, so I’d prefer not to spend several hundred on a new one just to run rotary scissors. This Atlas trimmer is $150 and seems to be a cheaper alternative

Nothing with the motor on the bottom of the shaft works. You need the be able to remove everything at the bottom of the shaft to make it work. The next obstacle is the size of the shaft.

Gotcha. Will continue hunting for a cheap option.

I got pretty confused about the different models being advertised. So I did some digging and comparison of the parts and this is what I found. The 'MW' models are for the global market. The 'VW' models are for the Japanese market. The Japanese models have one less sleeve, which is probably the one you will need. Talked to Seago and they sell the adapter kit for $40 (5 adapters and 4 sleeves). So if you need that 4th sleeve, it's going to be costly. Seago sells these for $300, but if you mention TLF, they will give you a 15% discount, bringing the price down to $255. Hope this is helpful.

Ordered my ebay version from Japan on the 23rd and arrived/installed today. Ryobi 40v has no problem spinning them. I have the carbon shaft ryobi and the sleeves were too big to snug things up but a couple turns of duct tape got it snug. Took a little bit of grease but not a lot. As others have mentioned, they're pretty loud. Hopefully once they wear in a bit they quiet down.
