Zone 7b, southeast VA. Currently have a lawn thats titan glx and rendition rx mix (special peninsula blend). Was seeded last August and came in beautifully this spring after a soil test and new fertilizer regiment. Summer temps in the 90s past month have made this blend really struggle. I’m looking for a more well rounded blend of cultivars that VT has tested and I’ve landed on twin city seeds resilience 2 or blue resilience. I’m hesitant on a KBG mix solely due to the fact my yard is not irrigated and I’d really love just a tttf lawn bc I’ve heard of KBG nightmares. What are everyone’s thoughts on the two? All cultivars are on the NTEP list for my area.

Based on the those two options and your stated preference the obvious choice would be Resilience 2 as Blue resilience has 10% kbg.

KBG def has some advantages over TTTF. Just depends on what you are willing to compromise on.

Absolutely it is and it did a great job this spring. I just see how the cultivars in resilience 2 compare to the peninsula blend and they all outperform both in all categories. Im
Willing to pay more for the resilience 2 seed knowing the cultivars are some of the best in the US and are also rhizomatous and self repairing

GCI has cool blue. Which I seeded with last year and had very minimal fungus damage, I do use fungicides on a preventative rotation. But my lawn is pretty decent still. I'm in Greensboro NC. Lots of heat and rain this year. And I really don't think I am even going to overseed this year.

Well I can officially say I’m a TCS customer. Just bought 75lbs of the resilience 2 for the fall to stock up. Free shipping and 10% off. I’ve seen too many KBG yards in my area where the KBG is brown and dead, I don’t have the time or patience to give it the extra inputs it needs compared to straight TTTF. Looking forward to see how it turns out this year

Great ! Please keep this thread going because I for one am thinking your direction! BUT I am growing for a backyard in the U.P. of Michigan. I am fighting (a)shade, (b)POA Triv, and (c) sandy soil. Oh, and (d) real cold temps (zone 5 ).
I question if TTTF can hack -10 (minus ten) degrees.
I have another yard in northern Virginia (zone 7) which is another story, but ❤ love my zoysia there !
I’m looking for a TTTF blend that is one of the “finest-bladed” of the newer TTTF. Even ‘4th Millenium’ looks slightly too coarse for my eyes !

I did a full renovation in my front yard with Blue Resilience last fall and love it, and I just nuked my back yard for another renovation this coming fall with the same seed. but I'm in 6b and have irrigation. If I were you I'd probably stick with Resilience 2

Yup! I did, counting down the weeks now till we get temps favorable enough for seeding. Got 75lbs of it delivered couple weeks ago
