Rain damage to newly seeded lawn

Good day. I'm on day 12 of my newly seeded lawn and we had a very heavy rain storm resulting in damage. What should I do now. Do I rake it level or use a roller and level it?
Do I reseed and rake it level. I'm not sure what to do

Was the rainstorm itself on day 12, or was it a few days ago? Only reason I'm asking is that, depending on what cultivar you planted, more germination should be visible by day 12. I (maybe) see some germination from the piles of peat in the pictures. You probably had a good amount of seed washed away based on what is on the deck boards. I'd rake those piles out and throw down more seed.

I'd concur; unless you see evidence of germination / sprouting. @deeps , in case it is any consolation, you are not alone! Unfortunately, string of back to back remnants of tropical storms that worked their way all the way north to my area were just too much for newly germinated and juuuuuuust getting established seedlings on a hillside - what didn't get washed away is so matted down it is clearly dead.
Very disheartening as now I have to decide between forgoing pre-em in order to try a spring seed (which will mean serious problems with VERY tough to deal with grassy weeds) or, forgoing a spring seed (which equates into looking at bare spots for the next 10-12 months AND continued erosion).

Please keep us posted and I hope you're back on track with a rake and reseed!

I had very similar washouts during my reno....@bf7 is one of my reno brothers this year.

I'd say - stay the course but definitely lightly reseed with your kentucky bluegrass and just let your footsteps press it in. I would pass on any raking as you may disturb some that is already beginning to sprout.

Have you gone out with a flashlight at night to to see any germination? By this time you should most definitely have some coming up. Please do that and send some pictures here.

After washout (I did nothing but throw more seed and lightly walk all over it):

Man how soul-crushing are those before pics. That was a rough couple of weeks for many of the reno brothers.

The after pics prove how easy it is to grow grass if you stay the course. Less than 3 months later, our new lawns already look better than our previous yards and we're dominating the neighborhoods.
