I have done some research here and externally but looking for some rookie-like help while in the beginning stages of pondering PGR. I'm not necessarily in a rush.

My overall understanding is that while it obviously slows top-growth, it can potentially aid density and root depth. If true, "root depth" peaks my interest as does the potential of not needing to mow every three days. I mow my KBG and PRG at 3".

I guess my initial questions are:

- From experience, has anyone witnessed increased root development?

- If bare spots have been recently seeded or a general overseeding has occurred, is there a recommended wait time until using PGR for the first time? For example, 2-3 mows etc?

- Experience with consequences of overlapping or missing spots?

- Also, I assume the answer is no, but does it impact water scheduling etc?

Thanks for the help. I'm just trying to better understand.

1) Yes. There are multiple research papers on this.
2) I dont have experience with PGR and young grass. I would wait. Others might chime in. It does increase root fungus potential problems.
3) Yes I have missed spots and the grass growths taller in that area. I havent noticed overlap issues.
4) I use the same ETo with or without PGR.

Thank you, g-man. Two follow up questions if okay:

When you miss spots, do you just go back and respray those few spots ASAP (that could intensify "overlap" issues, although you noted no experienced issues)?

Also, if I understand correctly, it may not restrict the growth of weeds? So they stand out more, which I guess isn't necessarily a bad thing since I could attack them...

If using blue dye, you will notice/fix. Otherwise you will notice in a few days when the grass is growing too much. At that point, you have 3 weeks of extra grow. This just happen to me.

Weeds, I'm not sure. I don't really have issues with weeds.
