I've been mowing my 2100 SF zoysia front yard every 2-3 days for a couple of weeks. I last mowed yesterday and mulched the clippings (I don't know the HOC for that rotary mower setting). I decided to mow again today and to 1) lower the deck one notch, and 2) to bag the clippings instead of mulching them.

The yard looks OK. A little less green than before mowing. Final HOC today after mowing is 1.5". In mowing that small 2100 SF, I had to unload the bag 4 times. It was a bit more difficult to mow that I thought since I just mowed yesterday.

Should I return to the previous setting?
Stay at current setting and mow frequently?
How frequently?
Will I always need to bag at this setting?
Will the lawn return to its previous green color?
Do I just need a new mower?

TIA.

Looks great....all the work in the shrubbery ...you retired :) ?

I believe you have ways to go down....once it 'resets' it'd be as green but initially, it won't be.
Could be emerald, empire ....? I'd bag only if taking off more than normal, mow 2x week.

Great yard for a caltrimmer and you'll like the stripes

Maybe one day I'll get a reel.

Since I don't have one yet, trying to decide whether to stay where I am or go down a notch again and give it time.

Semi-retired. This landscape was done from a blank slate to now in 16 months.
