Propiconazole during reno

Quick question..
I want to put down some Propiconazole to protect during my renovation. I have seen a lot of people say they put it down on the day of seeding but the label says to put it down between the 2 leaf and 3 leaf stage of growth. Stick with what the label recommends?
KBG for what it's worth. It may be a while before the KBG gets to that growth stage, and would I be taking a risk in waiting that long to apply it?

I'd wait and would stick to the label recommendation. I have used propiconazole around 3 weeks after seeding before and I find it actually helps the seed establish. For the most part I don't feel you need fungicide at seed down.
Thanks, that makes sense to me. (and apparently the manufacturers). :)

Wait to prevent fall rust. Seems to be common in high fertility renovations. Damping off etc arent a huge risk at the start.
"high fertility renovations" means what?

Renovations where you spoon feed lots of nitrogen?
Most renovations (rightfully) pump optimal nutrients to their lawns. young turf is extra susceptible to fungus, and fungus likes lots of nutrients, especially N.

So, have a plan before fungus happens. It often does.

Definitely young turf is susceptible to fugal outbreaks. I've seen rust in both my front and back renos. I feel a application of propiconazole is often good practice even before you see any issues crop up on a new renovation. But yes wait a few weeks after seed down.
Just wondering because the cool season reno guide mentions some light fertilization in the days following germination but doesn't mention preventative fungicide. I wasnt sure if the nitrogen rates were low enough that one needn't be concerned with this but I suspect that's not true.

Be extra concerned with fungus for the first few years on a renovation. Every year it gets better, but that first spring after a falll renovation is rough.

Rust is usually carried in by prevailing winds from areas it survives over winter and summer. Not quite time for it where i live yet.

Ive had rust / leaf spot / melting out to some degree on all the fall kbg renovations ive done. Now i just toss in propicanazole before its a problem. Indiana summers are hot and humid, we are adjacent to large fields loaded with rust spores, and i cannot bag mow if i have a problem, so i do chemical preventatives.

I think you can put azoxy at seed down. Then follow-up with prop 3-4 weeks later.
Thats a good idea too. That would keep you off the grass a bit too.

From the label of Heritage G:

For use in the establishment of turfgrass from seed or in overseeding of dormant turfgrass:
Heritage G may be used for control of certain turfgrass diseases associated with turfgrass establishment from seed.
Heritage G may also be used during overseeding of dormant turfgrass.
Heritage G may be safely applied before or after seeding or at seedling germination and emergence to ryegrass,
bentgrass, bluegrass, and fescue turfgrass types. Optimum application timing is during seeding. See Application
Instructions section.

Been thinking (worrying) about fungus on my reno as well. Are you planning to follow this fungicide plan with your reno?
Yessir.

Low rate of azoxy at seed down and prop around 3 weeks after.

At this point I'd either spot treat anything you see, or put down Azoxy the next time you get on the lawn. Weather it be the first mow or if your gonna fertilize at all.
I would guess that most don't worry about fungi too much. Although, you appear to be an overthinker like the rest of us. Lol

I don't have anything. I see Lowes sells a diluted propi. Would it be worth getting the full version on domyown?
Very well worth it if you ask me.
