So I just put down a 6 month barrier yesterday for the first time using liquid pre M... I was curious how damp your grass/ground was after you applied it. Or if that matters that much.

It should not matter. You are supposed to water it in so it is absorbed by the soil.

+1, the label calls for 1/2" of rainfall or irrigation within 14 days following application.
