Pre-E Now and later? Or just wait

985 Views 4 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  mrigney
Thread title says it all...I"ve been pretty absent from the forums the last couple of months....not b/c I stopped caring about my lawn, but b/c I got sick for a month (walking pneumonia, cold, flu in three consecutive weeks) and then have been out of town for work ~50% of the time over the last two months. Been a hectic season.

Anyway, I originally got a Chapin back in late September to put down pre-E....got delivered and was broken (as far as I could tell). After a huge ordeal with Home Depot/HomeDepot.com, I finally got a replacement. So my question is....do I put down ProD now and then again at the normal time (~March)? Or should I just hold off until March at this point. Any use using post-e on the weeds I have popping up here and there right now?

If it was me: I'd apply at the quarterly rate ASAP, then return to the half year rate in March.

Assuming you plan to apply Prodiamine.
Yep...the Prodiamine is ready to go...have just been waiting on the sprayer. That's kind of what I was thinking...was unsure what rate to apply if I applied now...how long before a rain do I need to get the Prodiamine down? Supposed to rain tomorrow, but wanting to get it down before I head out for the holidays

The application rate is based on desired length of control. There is a chart on page 10 of the Prodiamine 65WDG label.

Page 6 of the label calls for 1/2" of rain within 14 days following application.
Awesome, Ware. Thanks! Hadn't gone back and read the label yet. I'll see if I can get off of work early enough Monday or Tuesday to get it down. Always tough to get work done in the yard when it gets dark at 4:30. Guess this means my job tomorrow is to finish getting the leaves mulched up in the side yard. Got the front looking good today.
