Hi folks,
Looking for recommendation here....
Last few years Poa Annua in my yard has gotten worse. By the end of last summer, i was left with a yard that had a few larger bare spots, and then throughout most of the yard are clumps of decent grass with bare spots - all over.
Here is what i did:
Im in massachusetts...
A full dethatching, scarifying, and then aerating (in september). Bagged it all.
I put down first treatment of Pendulum2G in late september. Then about 6 weeks later i put down a second treatment.

With spring approaching, trying to figure out what is best. My yard is in bad enough shape that i need to seed, and seed heavy. its too bare in too many spots for it to ever fill in (with anything but weeds). So, what is recommendation for spring/fall? I know the Poa is lying there waiting to strike...but...
Would a heavy seeding in the spring (april), coupled with Tenacity to try and prevent poa growth bet recommended?
Then, in the fall, depending on how the grass took, get after the Poa with pre-emergents?

Somehow i need to get back to a fuller lawn before i can really fight the Poa. In prior years, my lawn never ended up so bad....it generally looked pretty good for the whole season but this past year i really got my but kicked.

I'm ready for a multi-year battle, but cant stand looking at a yard with such baren-ness...!

thanks for any inputs/suggestions.

Just a note to be extremely cautious where you get your topsoil from!

It’s been nigh on 6 or 7 years but the pain is fresh: I was not aware the load of topsoil I had delivered by a reputable seller was coming from a farm infested with wireworms.

Turns out wireworms are highly sought out by wild turkeys. Talk about destruction!

As I said, 6 or 7 years but the pain is still VERY fresh …

If I ever have to do something like leveling ever again, I’m going with sand!
wow, that sounds like a whole load of unexpected fun !!!!

any issues with heavy seeding in the spring, and using tenacity to help hold back the poa growth? yard is too bare to stare at it for a full season to just work on poa...!
thanks!
