Anyone know what is the best way to get rid of this pest at this time of the year? Did up the patches ? Spray Round Up ?

My fall pre-emergent did nothing to what I thought was annual species of Poa Annua.

Tenacity or hand-pick for existing. You can do glyphosate if you want to kill everything including your desirable turf. Solid pre-emergent regimen is a must for attempting to prevent new ones. I have a ton of the var. reptans (perennial) and they spread (similar to trivialis) and are an absolute bear to get rid of. I'm basically seeing how this hard-fought battle goes for the next couple years and if I don't win... well... I'll probably give in. I don't have any specifics because I haven't had success yet. I understand the strategy but I haven't been great at implementing the tactical piece, unfortunately... yet!

i used to use dimension because it was in the spring fertilizer I used. last year o went with prodiamine and it worked pretty well in early august.

I have some poa a now, but nothing like usual. I am decently satisfied with the result.

poa t, not so much, debating a solution

I debated certainty as well but the cost is crazy and also as noted somewhere in a thread I asked about it, someone noted it is no longer labeled for poa T
It is not longer labeled for kbg. If you overapply, it will kill it.

september can be too late.

I did october (not good), september (slightly better but still not good), then last year early August. While I have some poa A still, it is contained to smaller patches. nothing like in the past. They are small enough that I am not bothered by them.

So if september did not yield good results, go earlier.

Not to hijack the thread, but I'm prepping my schedule and plan of action for late summer/early fall and this is sort of on topic.

I have a Poa A issue in part of my lawn (~3k sq ft area) and in another lawn I'm helping to care for (another 3-4k sq ft). I know I have to chose either to over seed or put down pre-emergent to fight the Poa A, not both. I'm leaning the pre-e method.

I've already maxed out on prodiamine for the year, would a single (or split app) of pendimethalin be a good alternative (aka cheapest option)? I've been holding onto prodiamine and/or dithiopyr for the crabgrass prevention in the spring, so I'm running out of affordable pre-e's for fall use. I'm open to suggestions, thanks!

Well, I've got powdered Dithiopyr (same AI in Dimension) already which I use to spray late spring and summer. I'll be close to the yearly max after my summer application.

I can get pendimethalin for about $20 a bag (enough to do 2 apps). I've just not done enough research on the effectiveness of pendimethalin (especially against Poa A, most of my research has been targeted towards crabgrass). I've only heard it isn't very long lasting (2-3 month max), which is ok, I only need it to cover me from Aug/Sept - December. So my thought is a split app should run me for 4-5 months, I would hope.
