I am observing an occurance in my assault on Poa Annua with Tenacity in Bluegrass. Curious if others have come across this.

I renovated last fall, and things came in pretty well and appear to have survived summer OK. Had some spots of fungus and weeds to manage in spring but no major issues. I do have some persistent Annua that started to perk up early August.

I have been hitting it with light dose Tenacity (2oz per acre rate). As the Annua weakens it begins to develop lesions as its dying off. Then it seems to spread to the good grass. Anybody else experience dying Anuua contributing to fungal issues?

1) are you broadcast spreading the tenacity? Tenacity will always have some effect in all grasses, just not enough to kill kbg. I normally do a blanket once to find the poa (lighten up) and then just spot treat.

2) poa annua is a battle best fought with PreM. Do a preM application now in August and it will be a lot better next year.

Correct, doing highlight app then spot spraying / hand pulling.

Pre-m went down early August when evening temps started to turn. Glad to finally get a run on breaking the poa cycle. It's been a few seasons of learning this art. Had a poor history of fall aerating/ overseeding with contractor mix / TTF and no fall pre-m for a few years. Did a full kill reno and 100% KBG last fall and now at the one year mark. Began spoon feeding last week with aggressive approach to get some spreading and density in a few areas.
