So I've recently acquired some PGR and plan to use it sometime this week, however, I've noticed that my lawn needs to be verticutted. Is it ok to verticut and then spray PGR or should I verticut and wait a few weeks before doing so? I'll be going on vacation next week so I would like to put down the PGR before I leave but I would also like to verticut before I go.

I'm in a similar situation - I verticut last weekend, which was one week after my last PGR app. I plan to spray PGR again before I leave for vacation in about a week.

Per Syngenta, when Primo Maxx is used, "vertical shoot growth is slowed, while lateral and below-ground growth of rhizomes, stolons, tillers and roots is stimulated." So reading that, I think you could make the argument that PGR wouldn't necessarily inhibit recovery after a verticut. Even if it did, I would probably trade that for the possibility of dealing with excessive growth after returning from vacation.

If you're verticutting pretty heavy and only leaving for 7-10 days I would say to wait until you come back for your PGR app. I lightly verticutted prior to my vacation and after 8 days I did have a lot of top growth (no PGR). I then cut down to .5" and scalped a bit but now after a week it has recovered nicely and am mow mowing at 5/8". If you'll be out longer than 10 days, then like ware said, apply your pgr so that there isn't excessive growth.
