I bought some on clearance at Walmart last year and threw it down in July. I wouldn't buy it at the full price, but three bucks is cheap. Your pH needs to be right for it available for the turf though...

 

$3, buy for sure. It has more than just iron in it. Decent micros.

Ironite is one of the cheapest sources os Iron. That said, like @massgrass said you've got to get your pH right.

 

When you guys say the Ph has to be "right" how close to ideal does it need to be? Will it just lose effectiveness by a percentage the farther from ideal it gets?

Hey.. I have several bags that got wet so I can't spread it. Has anyone tried dissolving it and spraying?

 

I thought ironite had leaf and arsenic and was not reccommended?had good results when I used it in past though

let it dry and drop the bag on the driveway to break up the clumps

 

If the driveway is concrete, don't drop ironite on it. It will stain it.

I think they removed the arsenic and other heavy metals from their process, but I'm not sure.
