I was thinking of starting an overseeding project of my own. I know it is late but I am yet to have a string of 5 days in a row where the temp was not at least 85*. Monday to Wednesday this week it will be 100. Next weekend however it will be 80 and should not get above that temp for the rest of the season. Is it too late to plant a seasonal or perennial rye?
Also I moved into my house 2 years ago and planted bermuda that May in full sun. Come to find out from mid October until mid March half my yard is fully shaded by the house and the bermuda grass turned to mostly dirt.. Will Rye grass grow in fully shaded areas? Anything I can do? Or should I tuck my head between my legs and kiss my sweet grass goodbye.
