New member here from West of Austin, TX. I live between Bee Cave and Spicewood.

I plan on doing a proper member intro tonight or tomorrow, but just noticed something in my yard and thought it would be interesting to post pics now.

Are these the same species? Took these from with 5 ft if each other in my back yard.(Left vs right on first pic). The thinner blades seem rolled up kinda. Does that mean it's all the same but some are drought stressed?

I thought it was all Bermuda until this afternoon.

Not sure if these pics are enough to go by...

I have been taking lots of pictures from the same few spots around my lawn and comparing them over the past few weeks. I don't know what I'm doing yet, but sure do enjoy reading and learning from this forum.

Thanks guys!

Pics over the past couple of weeks from the top of the slide.
HOC is ~1" with manual reel. I never was able to scalp lower because of my mower. So do I need to raise it to 1.5 to provide a 1/2" "green up" difference?

Still need to get my watering lined out, I assume it's struggling because of the heat.

EmeraldLawns is doing the fert/weed control until I feel confident enough to take over. They have only come one time so far, and sprayed fungicide in addition to granular (organic I think) fertilizer and spraying for weeds.

Lots of dog pee spots

Got a thatch rake and it is very satisfying/addicting! I used it pretty aggressively in a few areas and am watching to see what happens. The sandy spot on the left is where I took it down to the dirt and put down 4 bags of sand as a test.

Is there an obvious bermuda->zoysia invasion?

Any tips on figuring out which Bermuda type you have? Mine was sodded by the builder, but all he could tell me was "it's bermuda... probably hybrid".... "thanks..."
I'll see if I can ask the builder. And if they don't know I will ask if they can tell me the supplier. I read a post earlier today where they found out by calling the supplier directly.

This house is ~4 years old but I just bought it 5 months ago. This is my first lawn. This neighborhood has mostly "Bermuda" lawns but I've heard Zoysia is a upgrade from the builder and a few houses have St. Augustin.

There are 2 or 3 houses with ReelLow lawns but I haven't reached out to them yet.
