New homeowner here, trying to figure out my sprinkler system. I can't even get water to my VPB, let alone to my sprinklers.
I have a main water valve that looks like this.
A classic setup with a main water valve (vertical) and a branch for what I assume is the irrigation (horizontal). Water comes from down, and is pumped up.
I have a U-shaped Vacuum Pressure Breaker on the opposite side
of my house (~30 feet from my main water valve).
I have toggles both of the valves on this piece. No water flowing through it. I have tested with the test cocks, and no water comes out.
And at last, I have a box that my sprinkler valves are in.
Giving them the quarter turn does not turn on any sprinklers obviously. This box is about 2 feet from my Vacuum Pressure Breaker. Is it possible that there's something in here that I need to toggle to get water into my VPB?
I had a plumber come out and replace my irrigation valve next to the main water valve. I thought it might've been broken, but it was not. The plumber hypothesized that there could be a valve hidden behind drywall somewhere, but that seems unlikely to me, and also expensive to find out.
I'm at a loss. What are my next steps for getting water to my U-shaped VPB? Much appreciated.
