I put down .70 10-10-10

I'm wondering how to you keep your lawn from Nitrogen burn. I have watered for 30min burn, watered for 1 1/2 hrs burn, this week I watered for 45min waited for 30min watered another 40min then hand watered and I still got Nitrogen burn.

What else can I try? I have zenith zoysia in Atlanta

Are you trying to grow it in?

My understanding is that Zoysia doesn't need a lot of N input. Perhaps scale back to .5 lb N/1000/month over an 7-8 month growing season. Maybe search for an polymer coated slow release? I think it would work well in your application with Zoysia. Check this article out http://grounds-mag.com/mag/grounds_maintenance_food_turf_slowrelease/

Another option would be going with a 90% Milorganite program. No burns from it, only fine aromas.

I've put down 1 lb/k of nitrogen with no burn. Are you spreading when the lawn is already wet? Are you spreading in the evening and watering in the morning? That might lead me to think dew could be creating the issue.
