Ive got that stuff on a commercial property I maintain. This stuff spreads like crazy, grows in massive clumps. Its taken over some big areas on the property. Only thing that will work on it is roundup. Ive asked about it here before and was told that.

 

Did anyone tell you the name of this weed

 

The name is simply tall fescue. Perhaps the wild form or a variety with broad leaves. But varieties with narrow leaves can also become similarly broad-leaved if they are solitary and have little competition. I often see this at the edge of a lawn.

A good way of recognizing tall fescue is by short hairs on the leaf edge in the collar region (but not present on every single leaf).

 

What’s your suggestion here? Should I dig it up?

 

I did seed / overseed with SnapBack RR about 45 days ago. That is a rhizomal plant … but this one just looks odd and it standing out compared to all of the other grass.

 

+1 @2L8 . Clumping tall fescue. Dig it out or glyphosate and reseed. It'll only clump bigger and bigger.
