Looks like bentgrass to me. Really with it that bad I think you would be better off nuking the entire yard and reseeding, but either way some Tenacity needs to be on hand because it will try to come back. Don't know if you have time enough for that or not this year in your area.

Another option would be mow it at about 1 inch or lower for a while and see if it is something you could live with. It won't look near as bad if mowed low, actually can it look decent if taken care of properly. That would be the cheapest way to deal with it anyway.
